  • The Kerala Hi-Tech Textile¬† Cooperative Limited, (KELTEX), (Post) Athavanad, (Dist) Malappuram, Kerala, is a hi-tech weaving and garments project implemented by the Government of Kerala. The unit is ideally situated and can be easily approached by road and rail. Calicut Airport is just 50 KM away from the unit and the nearest Railway station 9 KM away. The Project when fully commissioned will have 24 Numbers of imported shuttle less looms and other pre-loom and post loom Machineries. The garment segment will have a core unit and switching unit.
    The envisaged machine capacity of the garment segment is 50 numbers of single needle flat bed lock stitch machines and 22 supporting machines. The project has been implemented in phases and the first phase with six numbers of imported 3600 mm Rapier Weaving Machines and other pre- loom and post loom facilities was commissioned during 2006. As the weaving machines installed are new generation looms, quality and timely delivery can be ensured. Further, activities connected with next phase expansion of the project are in progress with rapid pace. The production capacity of the unit will be further increased once the expansion programme is completed. KELTEX has already recruited qualified and experienced Technical Personnel to run the unit ensuring 3 shift operations.
